To me this picture is very interesting because it is frame very well different because his body is split into two by the window and it’s also shows two parts of him because one half is fully dressed and the other is not. The light is focused mostly on his head and right arm however his legs are in the dark, when I first saw the picture i cannot really see them that well at first I didn’t notice his legs they are hidden well. The window is a really good frame because it sections off the picture into six sections and each one is like it’s own Little picture in its self. Which I think adds a lot to the photo because it is a pattern which I find quite interesting. The room is also filled with lines and other shapes for example the paintings on the walls. This picture is a portrait however it is a bit different to normal portraits because it is not straight on Picture it has objects around him and objects changing the view of him. we can see that she was looking at the Photographer which indicates let the man knows she is there but she does not feel embarrassed or wanting to get out of the photo she is welcoming of the person taking a photo of him.I think that she had to change a lot of things to make this photo right for her because the sofas/chairs needed to be able to take up space because if there was a lot of free space it would’ve looked very unnatural And he is trying to make it look as natural as possible I think she made sure all the lighting was correct for her then took the photo. I enjoy this photo because it has a wide range of different interesting parts to it and I believe that the frame of the window works really well because it makes you look at each part of the photo not just the man. I like how Shizuka Yokomizo made sure that the lighting was correct and shined onto his head I believe that is so true shows A man going about his every day life without worrying about other people. If I could talk to the artist I would ask her if it was all on purpose? because it looks very natural but I am unsure if it is. I would also ask her why she thought is taking a picture through the window? because it is a different concept. My final question would be if she could change anything about it what would it be? maybe for example the glare on the sofa nearest to the window. From research I found out that they are all staged in the series called dear stranger where the photo is from that I am studying the day stranger series is the story of a troubling relationship between a photographer and the subject to meet without seeing each other she showed this by using the window as a indication of a barrier. I think the picture relates to opening by him being open for her to take the photo and not worrying about what he looks like or what he’s doing and he is welcome for her to be there.
